Post 13: My Digital Method

This is my process for inking and coloring my drawings and comics using a computer, generally with adobe illustrator and photoshop.

First, I draw the image out on paper and scan it in

Then, I go over the lines in illustrator, tweaking them to get just the right angles and curves.

Once I've got that done, I'll copy it to photoshop and start coloring in the outlines. Sometimes I make a test coloring with the original scan, just to make sure it looks decent beforehand.

Thus, the end result is something that looks far more "official" then just a plain scan. (Don't worry, the final comic will look even better than this demo!)

Post 12:Et Cetera

Here's a rough color guide I made for the first few pages, along with some generic animal character sketches that I practice posing and such with.

Post 11: Dummies - Title & Page layout

Post 10: New referance materials

Here are some things from the comics store. They were renting out a former storeroom, so I found most for 1/2 price.

Post 09: Stuff, stuff, and more stuff

A lot of things have happened over the last few days (midterms and resumes, among certain other things). As a result, I don't have my page dummies ready quite yet, but I'll be sure to put up what I have later today.
